Workshop: Building Installation/Feeder Vessels for the Offshore Wind Industry in the US

Date and time: tba

Description of the workshop: This panel addresses the challenges of building installation / feeder vessels for the offshore wind market in the US. This panel focusses on the actual building aspects at and the challenges involved, such as: ownership requirements, finance, shipyard availability and restrictions, build time, work force requirements, Jones Act and USCG requirements, build risks, etc. Building these large vessels is a challenge and requires all parties involved to work together. The panel comprises a combination of vessel owners / operators, shipyard and designer / equipment supplier.

Rationale: Past panels have addressed vessel requirements, Jones Act implications, cost implications, pipeline requirements, etc and covered various concept alternatives such as WTIVs, feeder jack-ups or feeder barges. This panel goes beyond the T&I aspect and into actual building of the vessels.
