Construction Vessels
In the early 1970’s, construction vessels were often conversions. We were involved in the conversion engineering as well as the design and construction of the offshore cranes like the Challenger, ORCA and Champion with 800 ton cranes.
At the end of the 1990’s and early 2000’s we recognized renewed interest in construction vessels. This resulted in the Lan Jiang, Oleg Strashnov and Hai Yang Shi You 201 design and engineering. For the last two, we also delivered the 5,000 ton and 4,000 ton cranes.
Constructor class
The GustoMSC Constructor class of vessels has been specifically designed to accommodate today's and future requirements of the offshore oil & gas construction and SURF market. The vessels can be provided with various mission equipment systems, such as pipelay systems (S- or J-lay), reel-lay systems, flex-lay systems or be equipped as deepwater installation and cable lay. Ample crane capacity is provided for surface installation and subsea operations as well as giving full coverage of the deck and moon pool area. The vessels have excellent sea keeping and DP capabilities in combination with a good transit speed. The vessels provide a stable platform for lifting operations. For higher crane loads an active ballast system can be used to reduce heeling angles. the vessels are designed to operate in DP mode on deep water in accordance with DP-3 and DYNPOS ER requirements.
SCB series
For shallow water operations in up to 150 m water depth, the barges will operate in a spread moored configuration. Hull form is typically barge shaped to reduce the hull building costs.
